The Society's Family Files and Genealogical Holdings were located in a special Research Room in the Public Records
Division of the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. However, we donated the collection to the Kentucky History Center and moved it on 8 May 99. The collection is available in the KHC catalog and library for public use.
For the latest regarding The Kentucky Historical Society's hours, check their web site, or
call 502-564-1792.
All correspondence and donated materials should be sent only to the Kentucky Genealogical Society, PO Box 153, Frankfort, KY 40602.

The growth of collections of printed family histories, county records, census,
county and state histories, family files, etc., is dependent upon minimal
purchases from Seminar-generated funds, and from donated printed and reproduced
materials for review in Bluegrass Roots.
|
Numerous submittals by members, and non-members, consist of; family group sheets, pedigree charts, lineages, stories,
and other genealogical and family collections.
These materials eventually are placed with the History Center for preservation of family origin, descent, and relationships to Kentucky honoring the
memory of Kentucky ancestors and connections. We encourage you to join us in the growth of this collection for future
generations. Please, in submission of this data, use the Society address listed above.

The Kentucky Genealogical Index project will continue, under the direction of Brian Harney,
it's founder.   However, he is not doing any "computer searches" against the KGI for the
forseeable future, so that he may get caught up on some personal projects. Please watch
Bluegrass Roots and these web pages for any future announcements. In the meantime, take a look at genealogy
data on Brian Harney's WebPages and on other KGS web pages.

Also, see the KGS News page, plus the KGS Archives/Projects page for links to other items like this.
